We
are husband and wife who jointly design and craft functional copper
home and gardenware, transforming the everyday object into art. We
live in Louisville, Ky. In a lovely old area, "The Highlands", and
our studio is in our home.
Joe has always been very inventive
and does all the mechanical designs.In our most recent body of work,
a series of outdoor "Bloomin'™ Showers", Joe's attention to detail is
evident. In addition to the shower faucet, the "Stem" has a lower
faucet to be used for foot washing or as a hose connector for
watering. The verdigris finish of the "stem" and leaves, and the
burnished or Powder coated copper 15" "Flower" will gain beauty and
character with age.
Karen is largely responsible for the
artistic content of our work. Glass and natural stones are
incorporated in the designs, as well as unique patinas, which are
applied to the copper. Many pieces are polished and a coat of
quality lacquer is applied.
From the first design ideas to the
finishing steps, we both work on each and every piece. We take great
pride in the quality of our work and continually strive to create
elegant, useful home and gardenware that will provide many years of
enjoyment.
